Life at Weston Park
Life at Weston Park Care Home is full of fun, engagement and community spirit, with a varied activities programme designed to bring residents together and make every day enjoyable. Residents are often seen taking part in movement-to-music sessions and friendly games such as balloon tennis and bingo, which promote both physical activity and social interaction. Special celebrations and seasonal events, including lively New Year’s Eve parties complete with singing, dancing, food and good company these create memorable moments. There are also regular resident and relatives’ meetings, ensuring people stay connected and involved in life at the home. Through these activities, residents enjoy opportunities for laughter, connection and shared experiences that support wellbeing and a sense of belonging.
Meet the Manager
John Craig
I am the manager at Weston Park and started with Capital Care Group in March 2024.
I trained as a Registered Learning Disability nurse in 1986 and have worked in a number of care settings since qualifying in 1989. These settings include working as a community nurse, managing community services, managing a complex behaviour hospital, as well as managing care homes in the North West.
I started to work in the care sector in 1981 by chance, but have enjoyed caring for people and managing services ever since that fortunate role.
My philosophy of care is very simple: our residents are the sole reason why we come to work, whether that be as the home manager, care staff, or our fabulous support teams. As long as we remember to place the resident at the centre of all we do, we will give them the best quality of life that we can.
Weston Park is a well-equipped care home set in its own landscaped grounds, offering accommodation for up to 102 residents across three units: Mulberry, Weaver and Waterside. Each unit is designed to support different care needs, with Mulberry and Waterside focusing on nursing and dementia care, and Weaver providing general nursing care, all delivered by a qualified and dedicated team. The home features spacious single bedrooms with en-suite facilities, bright communal lounges, quiet social areas, separate dining rooms and beautifully maintained gardens, creating a comfortable, homely environment. Additional facilities include an on-site hairdressing salon, tailored complementary therapies, and flexible areas for activities that help residents stay social, engaged and supported in their daily lives.
