About Evedale Care Home

Our care team offers residential care and nursing care for people with complex medical needs, and 24-hour residential dementia and nursing dementia care provided by specialist teams trained in the complexities of looking after those living with dementia, who may also have other long-term medical conditions. We also provide specialist care for people with mental health conditions where we help our residents re-establish their mental wellbeing, sustain independence and prepare for a move into supported living or their own home. We run a busy activities programme so our residents are never without something to do, including days out, and visiting entertainers.
We have a dedicated team comprising, nurses, care staff, housekeeping, laundry, kitchen, and maintenance and as a team we provide the following services:

Nursing Care

Our nursing teams are supported by a local GP and external healthcare practitioners, making sure that residents receive the very best care.

Whatever their care needs, personalised care plans are created for each individual which not only look at care needs but also help us to get to know the person, their life stories and preferences so that they can truly feel at home.

Respite Care

Whether you need a break or want to visit us to convalesce after time in hospital, our short-stay residents all receive a high level of personalised care and support.  If our homes have availability, you may be able to book your stay in advance. To discuss your booking requirements, please get in touch.

A respite stay in a care home means so much more than just care and support when you need it.  It can bring social interaction and friendship if you want it. A meal with new-found friends or just sitting companionably with others while reading the paper could be just the tonic you need.

It’s always the right time of year to take a break in one of our care homes. Not only does it give your carers or family a break, it can take the stress out of daily tasks such as laundry and food preparation.

If you care for a loved one, we know how hard this can be. But we also know how important it is to have time out to rest and recuperate, so that you can recharge your batteries. Our Short Breaks and respite stays give you the chance to relax knowing your loved one is safe and supported 24-hours a day.

Dementia Care

Residential dementia support is for people who need help with day to day living. Our residential dementia care services support people to maintain their independence and individuality, encouraging social activity and building relationships within the home.

We offer a range of care for people living with dementia, including residential dementia care and nursing dementia care depending on an individual’s needs. Whatever their care needs, personalised care plans are created for each individual which not only look at the care needs but also help us to get to know the person, their life stories and preferences so that they can truly feel at home.

Palliative Care

Palliative care, which includes end of life care, is support for people with a life limiting illness to relieve their symptoms and improve their quality of life.

We understand that this can be a sensitive time, which is why our caring and compassionate teams at our palliative care homes offer support to residents’ families and friends, providing advice or an opportunity to talk.

As well as managing clinical needs such as pain, sickness, tiredness or loss of appetite, we look at a person’s overall wellbeing including emotional, social and spiritual support.

The home works together with the resident, family and friends, to create personalised care plans and get to know the individual and what is and isn’t important to them to make their stay as comfortable as possible.

Mental Health

Our services have been developed for and with individuals with mental health needs to re-establish their mental wellbeing, sustain independence and prepare for a move into supported living or their own home.

Our approach is focused around recovery. We use evidence-based support tools, therapeutic environments and time to reflect with a key worker to support hospital discharge and prevent admission.

We empower individuals to be ‘active citizens’ and take ownership of their lives by building relationships in their community through hobbies and interests, gaining voluntary work or employment, being physically active and having the opportunity to learn new skills.

We also encourage individuals to be active partners in the creation of their own care plans, share their experiences in peer support sessions and have a say in how our service is run.

To create a care plan that’s meaningful to individuals, we offer a range of activities backed by the National Institute for Health Care and Excellence guidelines for service users to choose from, including horticulture, art and music, mindfulness, voluntary work, complimentary therapies, massage, independent living skills, motivational interviewing, counselling, community engagement and citizenship.

Residential Care

Residential care is for people who need a little help with day to day living such as washing, dressing, eating and taking their regular medication.

Our friendly expert teams create a personalised care plan for each individual which not only looks at their care needs but also help us to get to know the person, their life stories and preferences because feeling looked after, comfortable and happy  is as much about  building relationships as it is about providing quality care.

Our homes have comfortable spaces for residents to relax and socialise in and a varied events and activities programme such as entertainment, music, crafts, gardening and day-trips out. Meal-times are also something to look forward to with a range of tasty home-cooked food on offer.
