Seasonal, nutritious, fabulous food and drink is available all day, every day!
We love our food and that is why we believe a good and varied diet is essential to our residents’ quality of life.
We provide wholesome and nutritious meals that are prepared in our own kitchens and cater for all dietary requirements, with specialist menus being created to meet all our residents’ needs. Our chefs are always happy to receive menu suggestions and recipes too.
Residents at our care homes can choose to eat in our dining rooms with friends or guests, or in their own rooms. Drinks and snacks are available throughout the day and an alternative to the menu is always available.
On admission individuals will advise of their likes, dislikes, any medical conditions (e.g. diabetes), allergies and personal preferences. Our residents become part of our family, we try to be as accommodating and flexible with our approach as possible. We have a daily structure of meals but are always on hand should someone want anything outside of these times.
Breakfast – 8am
We offer a full cooked breakfast, porridge, toast and cereals, these are served with a choice of tea, coffee and fresh fruit juices
Morning Tea – 10.30am
Tea, coffee and biscuits
Lunch – 12.30pm
A two course, home cooked meal is provided at lunch time. We use fresh ingredients and cook everything on site. There are two options to choose from and as we cook on site we can take preferences into consideration. A glass of wine, beer or sherry is often seen being enjoyed too!
Afternoon Tea – 3.30pm
Tea, coffee and cake – on birthdays we make a birthday cake to have with afternoon tea, with candles and a sing song! We encourage families and friends to join us for the celebration and will make sure a lovely fuss is made of the birthday girl or boy
Buffet Tea – 4.30
A lighter meal is provided in the evening and this is done buffet style so that clients are able to choose a little bit of what they fancy
Supper – evening
In the evening residents can choose to have some cheese and crackers, other snacks, cocoa or horlicks
We take every opportunity for a bit of fun and comraderie between our residents. Birthdays, Christmas, Easter and other special occasions are a great opportunity to celebrate! Our Christmas lunch in particular is fantastic fun; with crackers, presents for all and a wonderful meal with all the trimmings!
Residents families and friends are welcome to stay for a meal when visiting. We are particularly aware of how difficult a time it can be when a family member or close friend is receiving end of life care and so please don’t add what you’re going to eat to your list of worries – we’ll treat you as part of our extended family for the duration of your visit.
